Cook-Matson & Co was founded with a mission: to empower and educate small business owners and nonprofit organizations so they can maximize both their impact and income. We provide a full range of accounting services tailored to meet the unique needs of each client, including bookkeeping, payroll, tax preparation, consultations, and more.
While we serve a wide array of clients across the United States, our focus is on supporting small businesses and nonprofits, particularly those with humanitarian goals. Cook-Matson & Co is a virtual accounting firm based in Littleton, Colorado, offering flexible, accessible services nationwide.
Meet Krystal Cook-Matson
Krystal Cook-Matson, founder of Cook-Matson & Co, is a proud Colorado native, born and raised in Indian Hills. A graduate of Evergreen High School (Class of 2003), Krystal has dedicated her life to education and service. She earned her Associate’s Degree in Business from Red Rocks Community College in 2009, followed by a Bachelor’s in Accounting and a Master’s in Business Administration from Regis University in 2012 and 2017, respectively.
With over 20 years of accounting experience across multiple industries—including construction, nonprofit, and government—Krystal brings a wealth of knowledge to her clients. She spent 15 years as a State of Colorado employee, serving in departments such as Revenue, Public Health & Environment, and Public Safety. Her roles spanned cashiering, accounts payable/receivable, grant monitoring, budgeting, contract writing, compliance auditing, and more.
A significant portion of Krystal’s public service involved training nonprofits to manage state and federal funding responsibly. She has hands-on experience with every aspect of grant funding—from application and selection to administration and compliance.
Outside of her professional life, Krystal is a devoted single mom to her two sons, Anthony and Matthew, who are the heart of her motivation. She also cares for a lively household of rescued animals—affectionately known as “the zoo”—including a dog, two foster dogs, three cats, and an African Grey parrot.
When she’s not crunching numbers or staying up-to-date on accounting trends, Krystal enjoys camping, gardening, dancing, crafting, and exploring the great outdoors. Her life is a balance of purpose, passion, and play—values she brings to every client relationship.
